Hello everyone who has been following my blog!

First, I would like to thank you all. I know there might not have been that many readers but I appreciate every one of you. Especially ones that posted comments. They reminded me that there indeed ARE people that read my blog.

Second, while my blog might not have been the highest of quality I still enjoyed writing each and every post. I enjoyed seeing views spike after new posts where posted. I enjoyed practicing my Korean skills by translating the new skills, events, and updates. I especially enjoyed going into the Korean Maple community. It felt like being a reporter going into the field. This blog also gave me a chance to practice my writing skills. As well as introduced me into the world of blogging.

Third, special thanks to Spadow for inspiration to start my blog, being one of the first to comment on here, and putting a link to my blog on his.

So, why am I stopping this blog? Well, I still love playing Maplestory but I don’t have as much time. I wish I had more time to play Maple and blog but it doesn’t seem like that will be very possible. I have moved to a Mac and put my Windows computer away. Finally, a change in priorities. There is something else I am working on that is taking the most of my time. Also, the blog’s quality has been suffering in the last couple months as the time I can dedicate to it has dipped significantly.

This blog and Maplestory will always hold a special place in my heart. I will always remember the memories of talking to Koreans in Maplestory and explaining to them that I am indeed a foreigner. Haha. Maybe one day I will return to play but I think it is better to leave the blogging to those who are much better at it.

I will be keeping the blog to remind me of the work I have put into it and the accomplishment it has become and maybe a reference to those that might need it sometime.

With the new patch two new bosses were introduced. They are pretty easy. Up top is Chow. Chow is a piece of cake. You fight him as part of the new quest line in Ellin Forest. After the break is a video of me fighting Efenia.

Efenia is quite a bit harder than Chow. She is still a low level boss. However, she has resistance to physical attacks as well as all elements. Hence why my damage is halved. She also has a few interesting attacks. She has a seduce right type of attack. She teleports. She also has this attack that had me stuck dancing around floating in air while receiving damage. I found that pretty funny! Finally, she drops a ring. Average ring gives:

• +2 All stats
• +50 HP/MP
• +1 Attack/M. Attack
• +15 Accuracy/Avoid
• +45 Defense/M. Defense

Many things have been added or changed in the latest Tespia patch: Job revamps, Halloween event, and Ellin Forest extension. For now I am including all the changes to Aran. I will add the other job revamp changes once I have time. This took so long to do. Haha. Also, I will include animation and skill icons once they are officially released. All the information is available after the break.

Aran:

Aran(I):

Double Swing: Damage increased from 220 to 250.

Combo Ability: Attack gained for every 10 combos increased from +2 to +3

Combo Smash: Damage increased from 450 to 480. Mob count increased from 6 to 8.

Aran(II): 

Triple Swing: Damage increased from 370 to 500.

Polearm Mastery: Now increases attack speed by 1.

Final Charge: Damage increased from 200 to 230. Now gives a 30% chance to stun an enemy for 10 seconds. Animation was changed. New animation.

Body Pressure: Damage increased from 300 to 400.

Combo Drain: Max level decreased from 20 to 10.  Duration is decreased from 240 -> 150. Damage absorbed increased from 5% to 10%. Max amount of HP recovered increased from 10% to 20% of a character’s Max HP.

Snow Charge: Max Level Decreased from 20 to 10. Damage increased from 100 to 110.

Combo Fenrir: Damage increased from 430 to 480.

[New skill] Final attack: Max level is 20. Gives 40% chance to land an attack that deals 150 damage.

Aran (III):

Full Swing: Damage increased from 540 to 570.

Final Toss: Damage increased from 350 to 400

Rolling Spin: Damage increased from 110 to 160.

Cleaving Attack: Max level decreased from 20 to 10. Defense ignored increased from 25% to 40%.  Increases damage by 20% when attacking boss monster. Damage dispersal part of the skill is removed.

Combo Judgement: Damage increased from 500 to 550.

[New skill] Maha’s Blessing: Use 13MP to increases defense and magic defense of party members by 30.

Aran(IV):

Overswing: Triple swing damage increased from 360 to 400. Combo Fenrir damage increased from 450 to 490.

High Mastery: Max level decreased from 30 to 20. Minimum critical damage increase decreased from 15% to 10%.

Final Blow: Damage increased from 282 to 355.

Freeze Standing: Max level decreased from 30 to 20.

High Defense: Max level decreased from 30 to 20. Now increases Max HP by 20%.

Combo Tempest: Damage increased from 720 to 790.

Combo Barrier: Now also increases defense and magic defense by 360.

Swift Move: Damage increase to Final Charge and Final Toss increased from 50 to 60.

[New skill] Advanced Final Attack: Max level is 30. Increases attack by +20 and accuracy by 10%. Gives 60% chance to land an attack that deals 250% damage.

Evan:

Evan(I):

Dragon Soul: The cast time reduction is increased from -1 to -2. Now increases movement speed by 10.

Magic Missile: Delay decreased. Damage increased from 145 to 190.

Evan (II):

Fire Circle: Delay decreased. Damage increased from 220 to 280. Mob count increased from 4 to 6.

Evan (III):

Lightning Bolt: Delay decreased. Mob count increased from 3 to 8. Damage increased from 280 to 340.

Magic Guard: Now it also decreases damage taken by 10%.

Evan (IV):

Ice Breath: Delay decreased. Mob count increased from 6 to 8. Damage increased from 410 to 470.

Spell Mastery: Now also increases critical rate by 10%.

Evan (V):

Magic Flare: Delay decreased. Damage increased from 430 to 510. Now attacks a mob of 8.

Magic Shield: Absorbs 10% of damage. Now increases defense by 300.

Evan (VI):

Critical Magic: Now increases minimum damage by 15%.

Dragon Thrust: Delay decreased. Damage increased from 140 to 200. Knockback rate increased from 95 to 100.

Evan (VII):

Magic Amplification: MP usage increased from 135% to 150%. Damage increase increased from 135% to 150%

Fire Breath: Delay decreased. Damage increased from 610 to 700.

Killer Wings: Delay decreased. Damage increased from 450 to 500.

Magic Resistance: Now increases magic defense by 100.

Evan (VIII):

Dragon Fury: Threshold increased from 30% to 60% of mp.

Earthquake: Delay decreased. Damage increased from 640 to 720. Mob count increased from 8 to 10.

Phantom Imprint: Damage increased from 400 to 440.

Recovery Aura: Now also recovers HP by 20%.

Evan (IX):

Illusion: Delay decreased. Damage increased from 190 to 380. Now has a 40% chance of stunning enemies for 10 seconds.

Flame Wheel: Delay decreased. Damage increased from 265 to 390. Mob count increased from 8 to 10. Now deals damage over time. Every 4 seconds for 25 seconds.

Evan (X):

Blaze: Damage increased from 285 to 420. Mob count increased to 8. Stun probability increased from 90% to 100%.

Dark Fog: Delay greatly decreased. Damage increased from 1950 to 2100.

In November it’s Warrior, Archer, Magician, Cygnus Knights and Ultimate Adventurers. The first three were just revamped in Jump (Which GMS is just getting now as Ascension). I hope nothing is nerfed for bowmasters. (Biased ^^)

Finally, the one everyone has been waiting for since jump: Pirates and Thieves will be revamped in December. I am waiting for this because I have been wanting to make a pirate for a while.

Since I don’t have many of the characters that will be revamped I am not sure how I will show everyone the new updates. Hmm.

I can’t believe the blog has been around for 1 year already. I haven’t been updating as much lately and I am sorry for that. I will find the time soon and things will be back up and running.

When you make the character you will have that bottle and exp bar on your screen. As you level your character you will fill the bottle with exp. There are two bottles. The first bottle is received when the character is made and fills up at level 30. The second bottle is received at level 30 and fills up at level 70. Once and only once the bottle is full will you get the bottle as a use item.

As you can see the there are two bottles. One contains all the experienced required from level 1 to 30. The second bottle contains all the exp required from level 30 to 70. You can move these bottles around. When the bottle is used, enough experience is given to the character to the next level. This can be repeated until the bottle is empty of experience. This should allow people to make other characters and enjoy the benefit of all the exp they gained leveling up that character.

You are able to enter the Dojo only three times per day. There are three modes: Easy, Normal and Hard. The mode determines how hard the monsters are and how many Mu Gong Tokens you receive (1,2,and 3 respectively). There is also a ranking mode. In ranking mode you race to the end to try to clear the Dojo as quickly as possible. There are rewards for those that rank in the top 50 positions.

The structure of the Dojo is as follows:

• Monsters do not drop buffs and potions anymore
• Every set of 5 stages is followed by a rest stage
• In each rest stage you are able to choose one buff or recovery potion
• Using either will give you a time penalty
• The time counter does not increase in rest stages
• The 5th stage is always a “Boss” stage
• The monster in the “Boss” stage drops Mu Gong Tokens depending on the difficulty mode

Some of the possible buffs are:

• 100% HP recovery
• Max HP + 10000
• Attack/M. Attack +30
• Attack/M. Attack +60
• Magic Defense/Defense + 4000
• Attack Speed +1

Buffs last for 10 minutes.

There has also been a reordering of the boss monsters according to their current levels instead of pre-Big Bang levels. New monsters have also been added such as Ani, Lylinouch, Rock Spirit, Dodo, etc. Also, the requirements for the different belts are as follows:

• Yellow Belt: 50 Mu Gong Tokens
• Blue Belt: 100 Mu Gong Tokens
• Red Belt: 200 Mu Gong Tokens
• Black Belt: 250 Mu Gong Tokens

The stats of the belts are at the top. The black belt gives 6 Attack and 6 Magic Attack. The belts are time limited (GAH!) and last for 7 days.You are able to check the sign to see everyone’s ranking and completion time. Why have I been discussing the rank and why is it important? Well, because you are rewarded based on your rank.

When you rank in the top 50 there are 3 different gloves that you can get. When you are in the ranking you will receive a quest. This quest will give you one of the gloves. The gloves last for only 1 day. The items are “special” rank so I am *guessing* they cannot be cubed. However the stats that they come with are already awesome:

• Rank 50th ~ 11th glove: All Stat +20, +10 Attack/M. Attack, +12% Damage, +12% All Stat, +15% Boss Damage
• Rank 10th ~ 2nd glove: All Stat +25, +15 Attack/M. Attack, +15% Damage, +15% All Stat, +25% Boss Damage

What about people that rank 1st? They are super extra special so…

The stats are as follows: +30 All Stat, +20 Attack/M. Attack, +20% Damage, +20% All Stat, +40% Boss Damage. Godly! On one hand the items are complete so no need to scroll or cube them. On the other hand they only last for 1 day meaning you have to stay competitive and keep ranking first. It also means that only one person in a given world will have this glove on at any time.

Part of the Akyrum update included a trip to the past to witness Leafre during the Heroes’ last stand. You are also able to fight a fake version of Akyrum in the past version of the Temple of Time. The video above is of me facing this fake Akyrum. As you can see he is easy since he is designed that you can beat him to finish the quest in the Cross Hunter quest line. Read on for a tour of the past.

Part of the cross hunter quest has you helping the heroes in the past. Maha gives you a quest to help out as Aran is already unconscious.

After helping Maha you proceed to help Afrien and Freed. Freed is already defeated and Afrien is about to be frozen. Afrien requests that you retrieve the dragon egg and hide it.

The last hero to be seen is Mercerdes who is also already defeated. This makes me question if and how this area will be changed to accommodate new Heroes if they are added to the game.

After completing all your tasks you take to the air flying towards the Temple of Time. As you can see the area has a dark atmosphere and many of the buildings are destroyed.

At the end of the temple you will find Akyrum. You need to form an expedition of at least 6 members above level 120 to enter. Since I didn’t have anyone with me this is the end of the line for me

The Maple Alliance:

Once you are level 75 you are able to do a small quest that will allow you to join the alliance. The perks of being in the alliance? The medal above as well as a beginner skill called: Alliance’s Will. The skill gives +5 All Stat as well as +5 Attack and M. Attack. The quest is quick and the reward is great. You also get to see all the leaders gathered together which is kind of epic. However, after you join the alliance there isn’t really much more to do.

Cross Hunter Quest:

Mystic gates have sprung up around the maple world. Each takes you to a mini-dungeon that contains one mini-boss. These gates relate to the Cross Hunter quest chain. The quest chain begins in Kerning city and takes players across the different continents.

King Kentaurus is the final mini-boss in the quest chain. You are able to to enter the gates a maximum of 15 times per day. You can do this to collect coins that you can turn in for some items.

Doing the quests will reward you with medals and rings. The stats are as follows:

• Medal: All Stat +5, HP/MP +200, Attack/M. Attack +1, Defense/M. Defense + 120, Accuracy/Avoidability +50, Speed +10, PVP Attack +2
• Ring: All Stat +3, HP/MP +75, Attack/M. Attack +1, Defense/M. Defense + 60, Accuracy/Avoidability +20, Speed +5, 2 upgrade slots but cannot be potential’d

Players above level 75 are able to enter a secret area where they are able to exchange their coins. The area is located in Edelstein. The coins can be traded for a belt, a shoulder equip, and a pendent as well as scrolls for those equips.

Akyrum:

A new boss has joined the Maple World. This time it is Akyrum. He is the final boss in the Cross Hunter quest chain. There is a crack in the Temple of Time that players can go through to the past. There they will witness the result of the heroes’ final stand. Rin, the goddess of time, asks players to go back in the past to stop Akyrum.

The Akyrum expedition consists of 6~20 players that are above level 120. I am not sure why the entrance limit is so low because Akyrum is as difficult as Dark Empress.

Of course with a new boss comes new rewards. Akyrum drops recipes that can be used to craft the Dominator Pendent. A person can use a piece of twisted time to scroll the pendent. The scroll gives the following stats:

• Attack/M. Attack +3, All Stat +3, Defense/M. Defense +25, HP/MP + 25, Accuracy/Avoidability + 30, Speed +3, Jump +2. The scroll has a 70% success chance and a 100% explosion rate if the scroll fails.

Akyrum also drops two ring sets. The top set is the attack set and the bottom set is the magic set. The top set will give the wearer +15 All Stats and +10 Attack when both rings are worn. The bottom set gives the wearer +15 All Stat and +10 M. Attack when both rings are worn. All rings have 1 upgrade slot and can be traded with a Platinum Scissors of Karma.

First, lets go over which skills are part of this system:

• Cannon Shooter: Pirate’s Blessing: Gives +15 all stats and +5% HP and MP
• Mercedes: Elves’ Blessing: Gives an extra 10% exp
• Demon Slayer: Demon’s Fury: Gives +10% damage against bosses

When you get any of these characters to level 70 you are able to pass their skill onto one other character. (Only one at a time). When you reach level 70 you are able to click the button as shown above and select which character you want to share this skill with.

You are able to select any character that is in the same world as the character with the skill. You can pass the skill to another Legend character if you so wish. You can also change the character you share the skill with once a day. Also, as seen in the first photo you are able to have more than one linked skill on your character. So my Bowmaster currently has Pirate’s Blessing and Demon’s Fury.
